A six-episode series chronicling the lives of a morbidly obese family facing everyday realities.
With obesity at epidemic proportions in America, this series documents the ups and downs of obesity and the struggles of losing weight through the eyes of the Cole family. The tight knit family of four, consists of a 40-year-old dad weighing 340 pounds; his 35-year-old wife, who is close to 400 pounds; and their 330 and 340 pound teenage kids. The Coles’ circumstances have led to an incredibly unique lifestyle and while their health concerns are very real, they still manage to maintain quirky, humorous and competitive personalities.
RDF USA for TLC (2009)
Ratings: One Big Happy Family achieved fantastic ratings doubling the average audience for its 9pm timeslot on TLC. This whilst up against the premieres (and then the second and thirds eps) of The Biggest Loser and American Idol.
