RDFR SEALS TWO NEW PRODUCTION DEALS
15 September 2008
RDF Rights (RDFR), part of the RDF Media Group, has closed two new production deals for its hit entertainment format Don’t Forget the Lyrics with La Sexta in Spain and Mediacorp in Singapore. The series has now aired in 17 territories worldwide since it launched less than a year ago.
The success of the format has been self-evident wherever it has broadcast. Ne Zaboravi Stihove (Don’t Forget the Lyrics) on Nova in Croatia has consistently been the nation’s most watched programme on Mondays. In Poland on TVP2, Tak to lecialo has increased the average share for the slot by 25%; while in Denmark, Saa det synger regularly attracts over a third of Saturday primetime audiences.
The series is in its 4th hit season for Fox USA in the US; series three in France; series two in the UK, Austria and Denmark; and is returning in many other territories.
“Don’t Forget the Lyrics has proved that not only can it achieve great ratings in primetime around the world, it has sustainability and we are thrilled that many territories are now going to second series,” said RDF Rights’ Chief Operating Officer, Jane Millichip.
Don’t Forget the Lyrics is a prime-time entertainment format that mixes great music with a high-tension, big prize game. The aim of the game is to correctly sing a set number of lyrics to popular songs once the music has stopped. Get the lyrics right and the contestant has the chance to try for an ever larger pot of money. Get them wrong and they’re out of the game.
