RDF KIDS AND FAMILY EXPANDS LICENSING TEAM
15 September 2008
RDF Kids and Family, a division of RDF Rights, is pleased to announce its expanded licensing team. Angeles Blanco is promoted to Head of International Licensing and will oversee all international licensing activity for RDF Kids’ brands. She is joined by Lisa Simpson as International Licensing Coordinator. Lisa joins RDF from the licensing department at Target Entertainment. RDF Kids already has licensing campaigns rolling out on brands such as Mister Maker and Yo Gabba Gabba! in territories including Canada, Germany, Australia, Latin America, South Africa and Benelux.
Jane Kennedy joins RDF as UK Senior Licensing Manager. Jane most recently worked at BKN as Vice President, International Licensing and Merchandise, and previously for two years at 4Kids Entertainment as Director, International Licensing and Marketing. Prior to 4Kids, Jane was Head of Licensing at the Science Museum. Jane will focus on all properties in the RDF Kids portfolio – brands such as Yo Gabba Gabba!, Mister Maker and Big Barn Farm - and will also develop the UK licensing programme for RDF’s new CBeebies Preschool Landmark project Waybuloo. Working with Jane across the complete portfolio is Emily Briggs, who joins RDF Rights as UK Licensing Executive. Emily previously worked in the licensing department at Granada Ventures.
Another key addition to the team is Demi Charalambous who joins RDF as Creative Services Manager for RDF Kids and Family. Demi previously worked at BBC Worldwide as Creative Development Executive managing the product development across all categories for the award-winning In the Night Garden, Charlie and Lola and Teletubbies. Demi will oversee design and product development at RDF.
The licensing team is overseen by Rachel Barke, Director of Consumer Products at RDF Kids and Family. Rachel Barke said, “RDF’s Kids and Family division is now in its second year, and experiencing rapid growth, with all our brands enjoying strong UK ratings and international sales. New series’ are currently in production for Mister Maker, Big Barn Farm and Yo Gabba Gabba! RDF is also in production on a major new landmark CBeebies preschool series for 2009, Waybuloo (100 x 20 mins). RDF holds licensing rights for all of these emerging brands. The expansion of our licensing team is in direct response to the strong early performance of existing properties and the future licensing potential of Waybuloo”.
