RDF RIGHTS PICKS UP 2ND SEASON OF CELEBRITY REHAB

RDF Rights, part of the RDF Media Group, has picked up the rights to the second series of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew from VH1 US. 

The series is scheduled to premiere on the network 23 October 2008 and will follow a new set of celebrity patients undergoing detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area. The show will also follow Jeff Conaway as he checks back into rehab after a series of back surgeries, setbacks and subsequent reliance on pain medications. Joining him in rehab are Sean Stewart (son of Rod Stewart), Amber Smith (model/actress), Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon (American Idol), Steven Adler (Guns n Roses) and Tawny Kitaen (Actress). Gary Busey, who is 13 years sober, will also be joining the cast to share his experiences and thoughts on the recovery process.  

MuchMoremusic Canada, MBC Middle East and Sky New Zealand have already pre bought the series. “We are delighted to have secured season 2 of Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew, it is a proven performer on our VIBE channel and is a compelling and ultimately uplifting watch” said Lisa Clements, Assistant Business Manager, Programming, for SKY Network Television.   RDF Rights represents all rights outside the US for this series which includes a 90’ premiere show followed by 8 hours.  

RDFR also owns the rights to the original series of 9 x 60’ plus a reunion special which was a major hit on VH1, significantly outperforming the prime average on almost all demographics. The first series sold to Fiver in the UK, Sky Network in New Zealand, Foxtel Australia, M-Net South Africa, MuchMoremusic Canada, MTV Germany, Filmlux Netherlands, Kanal 5 Sweden, MTV Sweden, Globosat Brazil and MBC Middle East.
