RDFR strikes deal with Cosgrove/Meurer for 175 hours of Unsolved Mysteries

01 October 2009

RDF Rights (RDFR), part of the RDF Media Group is delighted to announce that it has secured the rights to 175 hours of the Unsolved Mysteries strand from Cosgrove Meurer. The six times Emmy-nominated series has been updated, re-scored, re-edited with new program content and re-mastered for Spike TV in the US and will be launched at MIPCOM 2009.

The classic returning series features real-life cases of unsolved crimes, missing persons and unexplained paranormal phenomena. Unsolved Mysteries is one of the longest running series in the genre, and has helped apprehend countless criminals and solve many mysteries over the years. Almost half of the cases featured have now been solved and more than 100 families reunited with their missing relatives.

Cosgrove Meurer has updated the entire series of 175 episodes and the new series is top-and-tail hosted and voiced by Law and Order star Dennis Farina.

RDFR holds international rights, and will be launching the series at MIPCOM 2009.

Jane Millichip, COO RDFR said: “It’s rare to find such a high quality documentary series with great brand recognition in this sort of volume. Executive Producers John Cosgrove and Terry Meurer have done a fantastic job updating and re-mastering the series. The transformation is amazing. We are delighted to be launching it at MIPCOM.”

John Cosgrove, CEO of CMP: “After considering interest from multiple distributors, we are delighted to be working with RDF Rights. They are highly professional and have an unparalleled understanding of the international marketplace, and of Unsolved Mysteries.”
